Choosing a design and flavors

I have no idea what I want but I have a theme/colors I am working with?
A theme is a great start. I can send specific photos for your theme and together we can choose the best design for your celebration!

What if I know exactly what I want the cake to look like?
Perfect! I can reproduce most cake designs with a few exceptions. Just forward the photo to info@sugarbuzzcakes.com and I will discuss the details with you.

How big will my cake be? How many tiers?
I can make a one or two tiered cake for 20 or 25 servings. A three tier cake will serve a minimum of 30 guests.

Can I get a fake tier added to my cake so it will look bigger?
Absolutely, however fake cakes are not any cheaper than real cakes. In some cases they will cost more.

Does it cost extra to have different cake flavors & fillings?
No, each tier of your cake can be a different cake and filling listed on the menu page of the website.

What is a smash cake and how do I get one?
A smash cake is one that is made for the guest of honor. It can be as simple as a  jumbo cupcake to a 2-3 tiered mini replica of the big party cake!

Cake pick up, Delivery & shipping

What time will my cake be ready to pick up?
I have an open door pick up time on Saturday mornings between 9-11 am. After that I am usually scheduled out on deliveries and not available.

What if I need my cake before Saturday?
That is perfectly fine. We will need to agree on a pickup or delivery time in advance to ensure the cake is ready and that I am available to meet with you.

What is the address to pick up the cake?
The address is 1426 West Huntington Drive Tempe, AZ 85282. The major crossroads are Priest Drive and Southern Avenue. Please note you will be going to a residential area not a strip mall. I have a commercially licensed cake studio on my property.

Can I have the cake delivered?
Absolutely! The delivery rate is $25.00 plus $1.50 per mile one way. An example delivery rate for a 10 mile delivery calculates to $40.00. Remember delivery is based on availability so inquire early!

What is the delivery area?
I have delivered north to Sedona and south to Tucson. If you provide a delivery address or crossroads I can calculate the delivery rate for you. Delivery is based on availability.

Will you ship a cake to me?
I am sorry but these cakes are delicate & intricate edible creation. Shipping is not an option unless you are up for airfare and a night or two in a hotel.

Pricing and cake sizes

How much will a Sugar Buzz Cake cost?
Cakes that are whimsically designed with stripes, polka dots or other simple patterns start at $6.00 per serving. Other tiered, themed or two dimensional cakes may be slightly higher pending final design. Three dimensional cakes usually start at $12-$15.00 per serving. All cakes have a minimum serving size of 20 servings per cake.

What is the difference between a 2D and a 3D cake?
Envision a fire truck… A 2D design would be a cake in the shape of a fire truck cut out from a sheet cake lying on its side.  A 3D fire truck would be one that only had its wheels on the cake board and sits upright just like a toy or real fire truck would.

Deposits and final payment

Where do I make a deposit or payment?
Payments are accepted via the website under the “make a payment” tab. Once a payment is made you will get an email receipt for confirmation. I will accept check in advance if time permits. This is the only way to secure a cake order. Otherwise, without a deposit… it is simply just a proposal.

When is my final payment due?
ALL FINAL PAYMENTS ARE DUE ONE WEEK IN ADVANCE. Please be aware that this is a custom order for you and your event. If payment in full is not received in advance your cake will not be made. Deposit will be forfeited with less than two weeks notice of cancellation.
